About Cecilia

Hi my name is Cecilia Garama. I was born and raised on a beautiful island a few degrees south of the equator in Mombasa, Kenya. I am a proud island girl.

Yoga first came into my life when I was 12 years old and back again at 18 when I was in university simply looking for a way to ‘stay fit.’ I had tried it all, weight lifting left me too sore, I lacked the coordination for synchronized rhythmic movements such as Zumba, and let’s not even get into cardio (much to my husband’s then-boyfriend dismay and disappointment as freshly out of service US marine. He was dating a Kenyan who couldn’t run, believe me the irony isn’t lost on either of us. 13 years on and it still gets a chuckle out of both of us.

To cut the long story short I stumbled on a 17 minute YouTube yoga video (pre-advertisement era) that challenged me beyond belief. It was torture, but I always found myself coming back to it and recruiting anyone who showed the slightest interest.

I delved deeper into my yoga practice finding a community and teachers in Nairobi Kenya and upon graduating with my degree in Journalism, I took the road less traveled and became certified to teach in India in 2014.

Through the many seasons of life, yoga has been a grounding constant. It has enriched so many aspects of my life and the people I have had the honor to share the practice with.

I am based out of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina where I live with my husband and sweet baby boy. I offer a variety of services to help those in my community attain physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

I want to use this platform to educate and inspire holistic living and promote sustainable lifestyle. Thank you so much for stopping by my website, I look forward to keeping in touch with you.
